Something for all of you British folks, and something new for other country folks.

I've been in the Beano (UK Children's Comic) mood lately, thought I'd draw a bunch of Beano related characters and series.

Starting first with one of my favourite series, The Bash Street Kids. Many of the characters still looking like their from the 1950s. Only the main characters included.

[From left to right]
Fatty: The Fat one.
Plug: The Ugly one.
Smiffy: The Thick, Dim witted one (head's too thick, you can use it as a heavy and strong object, like a boulder, and no harm's done to Smiffy!)
Teacher: The poor unfortunate man who's their teacher for all these years.
Danny: The Leader of the bunch.
Toots: The Girl of the group, and Sidney's twin sister.
Spotty: The Spotty-faced one.
Sidney: The Spikey-haired one, and Toot's twin brother. Also has lots of pets.
Wilfred: The short and shy one.
'Erbert: The Short-sighted one.

Nice work but how come Cuthbert always get left out? Okay so he's a swat but the other kids need someone other than Teacher to pick on.
Not a jab at your picture, just an observation.
You've got the characters great and I love how Smiffy's head scratching has set Teacher's jacket on fire.

Well, the only explanation I could give about that is... umm... they tied up Cuthbert and locked him up in Olive's kitchen, where the smell of her cooking knocked him out for hours, missing the photoshoot. How's that~?
Thanks a bundle! As I always say, best to keep everybody in character, as well as all of those minor quirks, like Smiffy's really thick head and ability to create sparks just by head scratching.

this is great! I'm an american, but lived over seas as a kid, and LOVED the Beano! thanks for taking me back to my youth!!! :)

Ah Bash Street Kids, when I lost intrest in the Beano these guys were the only part of the comic worth checking out cus they were always full of so much detail ,and I loved it when they had that super talented guest artist working every now and again on their issues : ) Suprised they haven't scrapped Fatty for being offensive B:
